Cassie came to us when she was eight weeks old. The joy and excitement she brought to the North Woods Kennel has been immeasurable. Her show accomplishments speak for themselves.
In 2003 Cassie was the number two Borzoi in the United States. We have many people to thank for that exciting year. Beep Lee and Shari Rhodes-Lee teamed up to for a wonderful Best in Show at the Sammamish Kennel Club all breed show. The previous day she won the PSBC Specialty. It was a memorable weekend to say the least. Cassie was always perfectly groomed by Lauri. She always made sure Cassie was ready for the ring and traveled with Cassie to every show.
In 2004 Cassie was bred by frozen semen to CH Zcerlov’s Reactor and produced a beautiful litter. Two of her Champion puppies, North Woods Silver Fox (Rain), and North Woods Zcerlov Silver Mint (Nevada) remain homed here at North Woods Borzoi. The remainder of the litter are in loving homes in Ottawa Canada, Oregon, and California. This was her only litter, as we later discovered she has a thyroid condition.
On Thursday, November 5, 2009 Cassie crossed over to her eternal home. Her spirit will always reign supreme in our hearts and here at North Woods Borzoi.
